Re: Crackdown DLC - Official Steps to Trouble Free Gaming

It will take a while for that stats-restoring update. They have to go through Xbox Live and find EVERY SINGLE LAST GAMERTAG with the following achievements(any of them , really):

    • Master Agent
    • The 4-Star Achievements
    • Agility Orb Achievment
    • Hidden Orb achievement
    • Stunt Ring
    • Road Races
    • Rooftop Races

Then they have to somehow find a way to see who was affected, how bad, and how to fix everyone individually.

It would be fair to give the master agent stats to the ones who got that, and their other stuff-leaderboard timings are better left gone. A TU like that would be quite the feat. Good luck, RTW.

What an absolute joke. This is a *** up huge proportions. I demand something in compansation instantly from RTW or this game is getting traded in without a second thought.

We may be getting our stats back, but not our orbs. Orbs would be impossible to calculate.

Even stats is quite difficult to restore I reckon. But I'm really crossing my fingers for the people who lost their savefiles.

Re: Crackdown DLC - Official Steps to Trouble Free Gaming

If only they could instantly re-stat everyone going by their achievements. If they have master agent, then poof, maxed out. We would have to start from zero for orbs, as mentioned, same for orbs and races. There are no individual achievements for individual races/rings.

Save the fained outrage for something a touch more critical than a  $7 game mod perhaps. Your save file isn't curing cancer.

I'm glad someone else is taking this view of things.

Apparently none of the people complaining have ever used software before. And whether you care to believe it or not, computer games are huge, extremely complex pieces of software.

I've had 40 page documents lost because Word blew up on me. I've had four hours of software development go down the drain because Visual Studio decided to take a dump.

In the grand scheme of things, a saved game, while frustrating, isn't that big a deal. It gives you a chance to play the game over again. I was actually a little frustrated when I got to the end and found out I couldn't just reset and start all over. Now I can.

P.S. Realtime Worlds couldn't care less if you trade in your copy of Crackdown, they already have your money. "I won't shop here again" is a pretty empty threat.

Re: Crackdown DLC - Official Steps to Trouble Free Gaming

I'm in the screwed boat as well. Downplaying peoples venting is not helping anyone. I can't tell you how many hours are gone from my game being reset. In the grand scheme of things it is a spec of sand in my eye, but it did happen and I will remember it.

Realtime Worlds is in the business of making money, so, "I won't shop here again." is a very real threat and they will realize it. They don't want to be a one hit wonder.

Where is the signup sheet for those that lost their saved game? Why isn't there one started? It clearly states in my gamer profile all the achievements I completed and they are in the completed section in Crackdown. Every game has cheats, that's how the game testers get to where they need to test certain things. idkfa anyone? How about RWKFA??

    This is BS.

I own a programming company. I know how everything works, thats why I am so willing to pay $60 for a great game, I understand the hard work that goes into it.

With that said, just because you are bad at hitting the 'save' button in Word, or VB, C++, whatever you use. Doesn't make this any less of a big deal.

I think RW is considered of the loss this will have on them if they don't try to do something right for these people, I included. When a real gamer looks to buy a game they judge how good it will be by who made it and if they have been screwed by a company that didn't care before they may think twice before buying it.

Not to mention word gets out, people let other people know about what happened. I know at least 3 of my friends don't have Crackdown yet but want to get it soon, but after a stunt like this, and listening to me are not going to get it. The gaming community talks.

I guess when it comes down to it, projects, papers, and game profiles all take time to build, and are a big deal to lose. Losing a project/paper because you don't save often enough is your fault. Everyone that lost their game saves lost them by a means that was not their fault.
