Re: Crackdown DLC - Official Steps to Trouble Free Gaming

    Agent G:

We are aware that the recently released “Crackdown” DLC is causing some gamers to experience a reset of their saved games when they engage in co-op play.  The team is working extremely hard to identify the issue and has provided steps to avoid the problem.

    Simply follow these instructions:

    1. Sign-in to Xbox Live
    2. Start Crackdown and receive new Title Update (if you haven’t already)
    3. Begin a Single Player Campaign game
    4. Once loaded, press Start and choose “Quit”
    5. Reboot Crackdown (soft reboot or hard reboot of console)

By following the steps above, this will ensure that your Crackdown experience will be trouble-free.  You will then be able to enjoy the new title update features, the “Free-For-All” DLC pack, as well as all the goodies found in the “Getting’ Busy Bonus Pack”.

For more details on the contents of the title update, and both the free and premium downloadable content, please visit: http://crackdownoncrime.com/News/DLC+Fact+Sheet.htm

A permanent solution will be released with the game’s next Title Update, which will be available in the very near future.  NOTE: Unfortunately these steps will not restore an old saved file.  There is no workaround for this.  If this changes, we will post additional information in these forums in the future.  We sympathize with those who may have lost their saved files.  This was an unforeseen incident and the team has worked diligently to find a solution in the shortest amount of time possible.

I understand this but with the "very near feature title update" will our game files restored befored this event. Dang I'm mad. I understand you are trying but I paid good money and I want my saved file!?!?!?!?!

SOLUTION - to those who's stats are already gone...

If they have the maxed out or 4star achievments then the new update should restore those appropriate stats!

This will hopfully save most people like me. It kinda sucks trying to play the new game types with ZERO agility!!!!

Re: Crackdown DLC - Official Steps to Trouble Free Gaming

That solution wasn't very specific. So, do you need to do this everytime you play crackdown?  Does this mean co-op is not a valid option anymore?? I'm not to complain but i find most of RTW's posts to be very unspecific and useless. If anyone knows the anwsers to my questions please awnser me!

Ok. How about my agility orbs and hidden orbs and stunt markers and whatnot cause I HAVE 2 MORE AGILITY ORBS NOW I WANT MY FRIEKING STATS! lol

Re: Crackdown DLC - Official Steps to Trouble Free Gaming

How did RTW not spot this? Its ridiculous that a problem this large would go through unchecked by a competent gaming company... Seems like they might as well have known about it.We gamers who paid for this really got shafted.
Right now, I feel the only thing in order for them to do would be refund the points spent on this Crap-drop....if not why would anyone ever want to trust and buy anything else from you?

P.S.- I played this game for the enjoyment of crackdown, not for the Halo 3 Beta, I have truly enjoyed this awesome game...until now.

Re: Crackdown DLC - Official Steps to Trouble Free Gaming

It should be pointed out based on the comments here that the paid content wasn't the offending item: the free game update was.

Free DLC people are just as exposed to the problem as people who purchased premium content. I fail to see how I "deserve" my 800 points back. Save the fained outrage for something a touch more critical than a  $7 game mod perhaps. Your save file isn't curing cancer.

Re: Crackdown DLC - Official Steps to Trouble Free Gaming

Brandon as prior posts from me asking and Agent G answering have said in here: You only need to do this once. Just make sure that you go into a one player campaign then when your in the agency garage or where every you spawned at  quit and save then you will be good to go!

    Okay, question here though:

I downloaded the Title Update and then, once it had applied and the game started, I went into the game and got the Free-For-All pack as well as the pack you pay for. Both were applied, and the game restarted with the content packs enabled. I then went in and played my regular single player campaign for about 20 minutes before saving and quiting normally... never went in to co-op at all.

Am I still okay? The official explanation makes it sound like you have to go into single player and save RIGHT after installing the Title Update. Is it still alright the way I (and I'm assuming many others might have) did it?

Thanks in advance. And thanks for the official explanation.

Any insight into this situation Agent G? Thanks.

    Soy:
    one more quick question.

when I got home from work, I dl'd the content without the game in my tray while surfing the marketplace.

do I need to make sure to do the steps you mentioned even though I was never prompted with the disc?  same rules apply? (save a quick solo game without dying)

EDIT: and is it the pay pack or the free pack or either?

It wasn't the DLC causing the problem.

Re: Crackdown DLC - Official Steps to Trouble Free Gaming

hedgehog - while this is not a cure for cancer it is still something that was paid for and something that takes time and effort to complete or level up.  The outrage is very just and if they can not hex edit people's a saves and return them to the state they were in before this mess - then people do indeed deserve their money back.  If it was the regular update to the game then by no means is it alright for them not to fix people's saves.

Re: Crackdown DLC - Official Steps to Trouble Free Gaming

man this information would have been nice to know say before i downladed the update and the dlc and hopped online. cause i was not expecting there to be a problem so i went ahead and did all that. i was one agility away  adn completed the game. now i have to start over from square one. i expect a refund and my stats maxed out at the very least and if at all possible my 499 agility orbs.

Re: Crackdown DLC - Official Steps to Trouble Free Gaming

Well I downloaded the DLC first then updated, only played single player to try out all the new stuff. Saved and quit the game and shut the console off. Turned it on again later on tonight didn't play on Coop at all. So am I good?
