Crackdown

I've not actually had a chance to download th content yet, but reading these posts immediately made me think it sounds like people are stuck in keys to the city mode from playing a co op game with someone who had selected it, cause that resets all your stats to 0 and creates a new save right? Have you guys checked to make sure you're not somehow in keys to city still?

drk that sucks. I was playing this morning before reading this stuff. It kind of scared me. I didn't play online though. What toml wrote sounds right though. probably a glitch.

Yeah I just got owned by the "Glitch"!!!  First after I Downloaded the content things were fine...I joined a friend we earned the Rat Pack achievement, then we tested out the street racing, then we got the New Time Trial achievement for 100points.  Things were fine my Maxed agent and all my 500/500 orbs were found I was even finding with a bit more ease the last 40 Hidden orbs I needed thanks to the new louder finder sound.

He left for the night, I came back to my game threw up a Solo so I could try to polish off a few more Hiddens and bam...100% reset...all agility orbs are back on the map...all stats are at 00...and I also avoided saving at all cost and did the same as the topic starter by going to dashboard and trying several ideas to resign in to cure this save glitch.  Good to know im not the only one but im so upset...I earned all this stuff wanting to finish up the Hidden orbs especially...its just not fun to backtrack everything over again especially when i've spent so much time finding what I did and leveling up.

I really hope these saves can be fixed, but I dont even know if I should bother leveling up again cause what if it whipes me clean again??? Then what...will it just be as fun to do it over and over from scratch...thats why we have saves...and I really feel the need for my 800points back because this is just not right.  I think compensation is in order and an immediate fix is required.  So upset, I just sat there with a blank look on my face like what the ****?  Then deperation built as I realized the fix was out of my control.  This just plain sucks!

I posted this in the same post on Xbox.com...Plus just for the record I did NOT chose the Gangs Back on I just started a simple Solo Gangs Off game like I have done the past bundle of hours i've been hunting for orbs...there really should be something that can be done about this...its totally unfair to the user who just supported the product even further with 10 bucks worth of points.

So, what I'm getting out of this, is there needs to be another patch before I play? That sucks.

I don't think you need to wait for a patch, just a patch if you intend to reset and if you intend to play online... otherwise I've done everything else solo and I haven't had a problem yet. That blows tho.

I wanted to do the Rat Pack, seeing as how I got the Shai-Gen one in 2:29.43 I figured that'd be easy if I just told my friend to sit still or start on the other building.

Ok i just tested my theory and it looks like its failed. i started with my Now NEW agent andd got agility up to level one and a few other stats half way up. i then started a new game with reset gangs to see if it resets my player and it didnt i still had the upgrades that i just unlocked.

il bet this bug is something to do with the co op mode as that has been crackdowns biggest fauilure so far. the mode is great when you get it working but the matchmaking system is a failure.

no matter what mode i want to play co-op in the game will just search for and connect me to the 1st available game even if that game has already denied my request to join, what we should have is a co op game where we can structure the way it will play IE what bosses are available ext intead of just jumping into someone random game.

what has probably happened is that i have joined someone elses co op game who is playing in keys to the city mode, this must have buged out my character. the game will have saved whilst i was in that game mode and obviously in that game mode my character is a level 0 character with cheats ebnabled.

then ive just loaded that character and voila.

so dont start a co-op game with rangs resurected and certainly dont join anyones game if they are playing in keys to the city mode

I can tell you this...this glitch happend to me without using the Gangs Re. mode, and without even trying the Keys To The City mode...these are not related to how it happend...either that or it can do it with them as well.

yeah same happend to me... plz get an uppdate so we can get back our stats and save file man i had 3 orbs from 500

I guess that's the problem, I was also playing Keys to the city co-op before my save was erased. Nice job making it overwrite a save in a game mode that isn't supposed to save..

RTW needs to address this ASAP.

Yup the exact same has happened to me too!

I was playing crackdown on live with a mate after downloading the new free content, so I then purchased the other content for 800 points from in the game, the game re starts after its downloaded the new content, I set the game up again and bang my save game has been totally reset! All the orbs are there, my agent has no skills and I feel gutted and annoyed I spent 800points on content that reset my save game.

I don’t feel like playing the entire game again after I spent so long getting orbs and levelling up, didn’t this get tested before it was put on live... how hard could it have been to spot this before it went up for download K

I want my save back.

Damn! that sounds bad. I can't get the 800 point material because I haven't got the points, and I can't get the free content due to being silver member, but now I'm not sure I want the material if it does this, at some point I will probably get it, but this will be after they have fixed this problem.

Just to let everyone know, a RTW employee has emailed me and I've replied.  They're trying to nail down the problem as we speak.  I'll post the email, but I'll edit out sensitive information.

First off what’s your gamertag or forum tag – so I know who I’m speaking to?

 

I’m [Name Withheld] – QA Manager at RTW, and can I say that I’m really sorry that this has caused you a problem. We are trying to work out how or why this has happened and therefore need as much info as possible.

 

Specifically – I need to know what you did in what order…so you got the TU forced upon you, downloaded the free pack/paid pack, started co-op in which mode etc

 

I’ve got some guys here and we are trying to reproduce it and can’t. The only two items that change the save game states are Keys to the City & Resurrect Gangs.

 

In the former all saving is disabled – in the latter it only changes the game world – not your profile so you shouldn’t have lost anything except for the gang progress (you keep all your achievements you just get to play them again…)

 

Any info you can provide would help us narrow down any issue

Happened to me too. :(

We tried to play co-op with my friend on the resurrect gangs mode, then we quit and I started a solo game with the normal mode. As I invited my friend to the game, the storage device screen popped in and I chose hard drive without even thinking. My friend's connection attempt timed out and I tried to create the game again.

And then it happened. Boom, my save was gone.

Well, at least I now have a good reason to play the game fully through again. It's not a big deal to me, since I had only found about 420 agility and 100 hidden orbs.

Okay folks, the common factor between all of you is coop, and the fact that you played it first. I've read several peoples post's saying that they played solo and reset the gangs, while at the same time keeping their saves. Do NOT play coop until RTW has cleared up or explained this mess, I'm very sorry for the people that lost their hardwork, I lost my Super Agent (Maxed in Everything --) and had to restart so I can relate.

Ive just had a similar mail Probably from the same employee, he seems to have provided you a lot more information he just asked me what problems i had so i have explained.

he says that the two modes Keys to the City and resurect Gangs should not reset our saves.

BUT: my question is what if we were to join a game where the host had enabled keys to the city or gangs reset. as the host their saving would have been disabled but not ours?

the problem is i diodnt ask the guy i was connected to what he had enabled.

i currently have a character with level one agility. so if anyone is interested in starting a game i can goin with these variables enabled we can try to find out which of these resets the character.

RTW probably wont make an official statement for a while as they will be too busy trying to fix the fault. so the sooner the community figure this out the better

anyone interested then add "Deap 360" to your friends list.
