Crackdown

I was playing co-op with a friend, he ended the game, and I jumped into a solo game.   I did not choose the "ressurect gangs" option.  To my horror, my game was completely reset... brand new as if I just bought it today.  I backed out to the dashboard, hoping it didn't save and then rebooted the game.  It's still a brand new game... all that leveling, all 499 orbs gone, all 350-something hidden orbs gone.  I backed out again to the dashboard (instead of choosing the "save and quit" option), but still no dice.  It's ALL gone!  If I choose to ressurect gangs, it says something about "all mission progress will be lost", and you can choose 'yes' or 'no'.  Obviously I chose 'no'.

This sucks... a LOT.  Is there any way I can restore my game?!

EDIT: I joined his campaign, ended up grabbing a couple Hidden orbs I didn't have.  Then he ended that game and started up a 'Keys' game.  I joined that game as well.  I didn't try playing at all in between.  After his 'Keys' game was finished, that's when I jumped into a solo campaign and everything was completely reset.  I am extremely upset about this... all that time and hard work is now for nothing.  Unless we can find a way to restore my game, I feel like I don't want to see Crackdown again for a very long time, and this is coming from a fan from way back.

Hey man i just posted an almost identical thread, i have the same problem all my hard work is gone, im reset to 0. i cant believe this i installed the free-play pack, jumoped into a cop op game realised that that guy had finised all the boses and wasnt playing the reset gangs mode so i left when i started the next co op game my character was reset and every game since has been the same, my achievements are all there but my character is a weak ass fool

 

im so annoyed ive been waiting for this for months. im a huge crackdown fan and ive been raving about this to all my mates, now i feel like ive been screwed!

Keep this bumped.  I'm sure there will be others to come.  Hopefully RTW could figure a way to restore our games... but I'm very doubtful.  I do NOT want to start from scratch.

well the least they can do is find a way to read my achievement stats and help me create a new character profile from that data, i reall hope there is more of this to come, im sorry if it happens to anyone else but im so annoyed. if it nly happens to a couple of people though RTW will just egnore our cries for help.

I'm mostly upset because of all those orbs lost, not to mention the few stunt markers and races I did.  It took me months of off and on playing to accumulate all that, and I was looking forward to the new audio orb range finder update.  I was down to my last agility orb and had less than 50 hidden orbs left to find, I'd been there for quite a while and was hoping to get the achievement(s) and be done with the hunting.  Now, it seems, all that work is down the tubes.

When I see Crackdown now, all I see is a helluva lot of extraneous work.  I no longer see fun, even with the great new DLC.

Thankfully i had all the stunt markers and stunt achievements but those damn agility and secret orb's

that was the stupedest part of the game anyway so having to start all over is retarded. why would i pay for the download pack now i have to create a new agent. im not working my ass of up to level 4 on all stats again its just stupid.

what exact steps did you take when you downloaded it so we can try to see where the fault is.

I booted the game

ran the auto update and it restarted

it let me know there was downloadable content available so i went to downloads (in game) that popped up the marketplace blade i downloaded just the free content. then it asked if i wanted to activate it, i said yet the game reset to the title screen

i joined 1 co-op game realised the other person had killed all the boss' i left to join another game and bang my character was reset.

did you do anything different like download form the marketplace on the dash or was yours ingame too?

Same thing happened to me.

Jumped in to a "Keys to the city" game with a friend, fooled around there. Then we played some regular co-op in his city (he had the premium dlc, I just had the regular). He left so I started up a solo game, now all my stats are gone. I had a maxed out agent, every single orb collected, every race completed and every stunt ring..

This also happened to another guy on my friends list so it doesn't seem to be that uncommon..

It sucks as well cause I was looking forward to playing this game again, thanks alot Realtime Worlds and Microsoft for ruining my save..

I think i may have figured this problem out when starting a new game or loading a game with the gangs resurected it says all current progress will be lost. i assumed all kurrent gang members killed would be lost but it looks like that compleately resets your character aswell. if this is the case Thanks for the DAMN WARNING!

Everyone requested the option to reset the gangs, instead it looks liek they have given us the option to reset the whold game. they could have made it a little clearer or just not put that option in, instead put the option in that everyone wanted and allow us to reset the gangs but keep our characters stats. 

As for keys to the city, saving and loading is disabled when you start that game so you can't start that from scratch and save it as your actual campaign profile as its seperate.

I only got the free pack and mine reset, see my explanation above as to why i think this is happening, i just need some replies from other people its happened to so that i know if its more likely that

That's what did it for me. Wanted to play with crimes on since in my game I had beat everything. Since the "Crimes On/Off" option is unavailable I took "Resurrect Gangs". Thanks a whole f***ing lot for that option...

Since the new content came out i've only played in other peoples games and in Key to the city i'm just starting up my 360 now to check it hasn't happened to me.

[Edit] My save game is still there and working apart from now i'm getting extremely bad lag so bad i can hardly play the game.
