Re: Sneak Peak at a little bit of the downloadable content...

    MarkyX:
Hey Agent G, probably asking something out of the realms of PR, but is there any chance of the update having some sort of increased difficulty?  I wouldn't mind playing Crackdown from the start, but I would like to see a bit of a challenge for my maxed out agent.

    Have you tried Psychotic?  Alone?

Also, a little message to everybody, especially the rookies.  Do not ever, EVER, play the game through on "Tough".  RTW themselves said they wish they never put that so-called difficulty in.  It makes the game WAY too easy and extremely short.

Approximately (according to your own skill, of course), Tough = Incredibly Easy, Ruthless = Medium, Psychotic = Hard.  Don't be fooled by "Tough".

Anyone who has complained to me that the game was way too short or too easy, I asked them what difficulty they played on.  Almost every time, the answer was "the default difficulty", ie Tough.  Just say no!  Smile [:)]

On a side note, everyone who's told me they got bored of the game quickly (usually because they'd already beaten all 21 bosses, and also played it on the easiest difficulty) I asked if they ever played mini-games.  People would reply about the races, and I would explain, "no, not the games that's inherently coded into Crackdown... user-created mini-games".  Most people have said, no they didn't even think of that.  Last night, for instance, I was playing Texas Hold 'Em and was talking with a couple of people about Crackdown.  They had never even considered player-created games.  I gave them examples of a few, and by the time I was finished playing poker, they were excited about getting together on Crackdown and trying out some of the games I mentioned.  If you're bored of Crackdown try some of the mini-games that's been created by us.  We've even started posts listing ideas for mini-games that you can try if you need inspiration.  Try the search function and look through some of the threads.  Enjoy!

EDIT: A friend of mine with vid-cap capabilities and I might put some videos together of some of the player-created games.  I'm not confirming it, but we've talked about it since so many people have no idea what to do with Crackdown after they're tired of killing gang members and running races.  If you have a good imagination, feel free to add ideas to the various mini-games threads that are on this forum.  If you have no imagination, I highly reccomend searching out those posts.  This game can still be incredibly fun as is.  The DLC is going to be icing on an already tasty cake.

Yes.  That's what I played in the first time.  I even forbid myself to use rocket launchers and even the machineguns near the end because I found it too easy.  It's easy even using default weapons when your guy is completely maxed out.  Even easier when you get a headshot with the defaults.

If you think this is hard, you haven't been playing many action games.  Crackdown is one of the more easier games I have played.

some new fun vehicles like a hovercraft, speed boat, tank , more muscles cars, tow truck that lets u tow random civilian cars and jump off ramps with em, crotch rocket, harley, and agency motor cycle, new skill( wich i heard in an interview along time ago they cut out a skill so we can focus on the mains skills and were plannin on bringin it into dlc. it was a gadget skill). now those are some cool ideas that arent retarded like a motorcycle that turnes into a jet with missiles.

The buggies look perfect. Can't wait for the races. Hell, even if they're just Buggies and no races I'll be happy.

EDIT: I have played the game on Physcotic, it was a lot of fun, actually. Crazy, hard, but downright fun.

I need someone to play LOTR BFMEII with online...

Okay, then if you haven't, play Psychotic on co-op.  The difficulty ramps up from single player.  I didn't say Psychotic was too hard.  I had the most fun playing on Psychotic, because it forces you to play the game a bit differently than other difficulties.  Hell, I'm almost 30 years old and have been gaming for as long as I was able to hold a controller in my hand (anyone else remember the hell that was the Atari 5200 controller?)

Perhaps you're one of those few "twitch" gamers that have the reflexes that make any action game easy.  Maybe you're one of those extremely hardcore gamers who could repeatedly beat Ninja Gaiden Black on the hardest difficulty blindfolded, and one thumb tied behind your back.  If you noticed my addendum, I said "according to your own personal skill".  For some people, Tough very well may've been too hard (although I doubt it).  For others, there's no way in hell they'd even go near Psychotic.

Besides, playing Crackdown isn't about killing the bosses.  That's just something the developers handed to you for something to do.  The main fun of Crackdown is making your own fun.

I just laid those on the floor and played them. Did you ever play a commodore 64? The text adventures were the junk. The Count, Pirate Adventure, voodoo castle. Oh yeah.
